About the SSAT

The SSAT, the Secondary School Admission Test, is used by many independent and boarding schools as a key factor in the admissions process.

Which Test You Should Take

Fifth, sixth, and seventh-grade students take the Lower Level test, while all students applying for eighth grade and above take the Upper Level test.

What Will Be On the Test

Both levels of the SSAT have the same three sections, (Quantitative, Verbal, and Reading), each consisting of multiple-choice questions, and one un-scored essay section.

Length of the Test

Each test is 155 minutes long.

*Remember that if you decide to register for the SSAT after the regular registration deadline, you must pay a $30 late fee.
